This review reports on the current state of the research and patent literature for membranes undertaking helium separation. Review of Membranes for Helium Separation and Purificationĭirectory of Open Access Journals (Sweden)įull Text Available Membrane gas separation has potential for the recovery and purification of helium, because the majority of membranes have selectivity for helium. Gases other than helium can be processed with the apparatus. The apparatus, operating at ambient temperature does not need constant attention, the recovery ratio of helium gas is satisfactory and running costs are low. The system can be used for the purification of helium gas containing air as a contaminant. Sanjo, S.Ī helium gas recovery and purification system, based on the principle of gas permeation through a membrane, is described.
